That’s a Wrap for 2019

As always on New Year’s Eve, I find myself looking back over 2019. It was certainly a year of learning, and though some of the lessons were hard, the education is welcome. As it turns out, the year has been pretty good. In saying that’s a wrap for 2019, I am simply welcoming 2020.

A Year of Change

Without doubt, the most defining moment of 2019 was losing my job. It was a harsh reality that came mid-year and created fear, insecurity, anger, resentment, a sense of betrayal, and so many more emotions they can’t all be defined. I held on to that for about two weeks, and then I moved forward. From that moment, I moved forward in many ways. I let educating myself be my guide.

A Year of Learning

Here is what I learned. Faith is the cornerstone. Family will hold you up no matter what. True friends will always be there, but knowing who you call “friend” is paramount. Having a great network is imperative. Keeping fear at bay allows for growth. Persistence will take you a long way.

In 2019, I learned that my faith has not weakened. I learned how very much I am loved by my family. I learned that some I would have called a friend just seven short months ago were really just acquaintances. I learned that acquaintances I’ve known four short months are really great friends and fight for me and with me.

I found a lot of answers in 2019 for questions I never even saw coming. I said goodbye to my beloved aunt. I lost a very close friend, and several other friends. I watched friends I love celebrate love and new beginnings. I watched love develop for some and die for others.

A Year of Success

I spent another 12 months learning to live my life. I was blessed with a new career and new friends. I met new people and learned a lot of new things. I tried to focus on staying positive and having faith. For all that the year has been, I choose to call it a great year. The one thing I would change is meeting my original goal of sharing one blog a week. Sadly, I let that slide though I genuinely had every intention of keeping it up. I am renewed in the goal of keeping the blog current though I hesitate to commit to once a week as I start my new career next week.

A New Year

As we walk into 2020, my wish for each of you is that your spirits be lifted, your hearts be full and positive thoughts be your guide. Faith, family and friends are all you need to stand on. So, that’s a wrap 2019. Welcome 2020! Renewed spirits, renewed goals, and hopefully a renewed blog 🙂 !
