About Me

About Me

This is me. I am a 40-something mother of three children; a lover of writing; a life-long Kentucky resident; an aunt, daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend; a mother living with the loss of a child and trying to figure out everything as I go along.

I lost my oldest daughter, Makenzie, in 2015 at 22 years old. I have a son who was born in 2000 and is amazing. I also have Kinley, Makenzie’s daughter, who was born in 2013 and is the living replica of her Mommy!

My life revolves around relationships. I am intrigued by the stories of those I encounter. I am interested in their story. I have often been the one others want to tell their story to and am flattered by that.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology (imagine that) and have worked in marketing and sports program management for the majority of my career. While my roles were not “in my field of study”, my degree has been helpful in learning how to talk to people, listen to understand and create programs and marketing based on behavior.

I am a dichotomy on most levels. I am an introverted extrovert; I am an optimistic pessimist; I am a relationship loving loner; I am a doubtful believer. I am a great mix of many things, and I think, fairly balanced.

This is my foray into writing publicly. This is where you can join me in my life’s journey as each chapter unfolds.
